During debate on October 28, the Liberal government voted down two Yukon Party Official Opposition amendments that would have increased oversight and democratic accountability of the Government of Yukon during a state of emergency.

The Yukon Party is calling on the Liberal government to enhance and extend the recovery package for the accommodation sector.

A Yukon Party motion calling on the government to do more to support the aviation industry has passed unanimously with amendments.

WHITEHORSE – On July 29^th during the government’s weekly press conference, the Premier was asked how much the Government of Yukon has spent on its pandemic response so far. He was unable or unwilling to provide an answer to this important question.

WHITEHORSE – Today the Yukon Party Official Opposition sent a letter to Liberal Education Minister McPhee, calling on the government to recall the Legislature by August 6^th to allow for the creation of an All-Party Select Committee to examine the Liberal government’s education reopening plan.

WHITEHORSE – A public engagement on the updated Yukon Agriculture Policy was completed by the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources in the summer of 2018.

WHITEHORSE – Last week, the Liberal government announced that they had decided they were going to make significant changes to the 2020-21 school year. However, it quickly became clear that the Liberals made these decisions in isolation and without any consultation or regard for the opinions of parents, students, or teachers.

WHITEHORSE - On September 2^nd, 2017, Premier Silver participated in a photo-op announcing an investment in the Resource Gateway Project. Since that time the Liberals have missed several key milestones for this project.
