WHITEHORSE - As indicated in a briefing with officials, the Yukon Liberal government did not properly consult a number of important stakeholders prior to tabling Bill No. 27: Coroners Act, including first responders and health professionals.

WHITEHORSE – The Yukon Party motion urging the government to review school busing policies passed today with amendments. The Yukon Party brought forward this motion following concerns from Yukon families and CBC’s The Fifth Estate investigative report on school bus safety.

WHITEHORSE – With just two days left until the legalization of cannabis in Canada, the Yukon Liberal government is unable to provide answers to Yukoners with respect to workplace health and safety as well as enforcement.

WHITEHORSE – This Spring the Official Opposition brought to light that the Yukon Liberal government is making changes to the funding formula for federal money going towards infrastructure projects that will negatively impact rural communities.

WHITEHORSE - Today, the Yukon Liberal government tabled Bill 25, Act to Amend the Legislative Assembly Act (2018) – which will give the Premier a pay raise.

WHITEHORSE – After committing to a review to improve the medical travel program last March, the Liberals have now watered down this commitment.

WHITEHORSE - The Liberal Government needs to explain why a contract worth over $900,000 was sole-sourced to an outside company without giving Yukon contractors an opportunity to bid. 

Whitehorse – Today a star candidate from Premier Silver’s election campaign team became the first person found guilty of violations against Yukon’s Elections Act. 

WHITEHORSE – Last year, Minister of Housing Pauline Frost fired five members of the Yukon Housing Corporation Board of Directors before their terms were up and without sufficient notice, leaving the board unable to operate. 

WHITEHORSE - Less than 24 hours before the start of this year’s hunting season, the Liberal government announced that all permits drawn for Finlayson caribou in the Ross River area were cancelled due to concerns about population. The Liberals did not consult with hunters or the Yukon Fish and Game Association prior to this last-minute announcement, nor have they provided any clear scientific evidence suggesting that this move was required.
