Laura Lang was first elected as the MLA for Whitehorse West on November 3, 2025. She was appointed Minister of Justice and Attorney General, on November 22, 2025. She is also the Minister responsible for  French Language Services Directorate, Minister responsible the Women and Gender Equity Directorate and Minister Responsible for the Worker’s Safety and Compensation Board.

Lang is originally from Sechelt, British Columbia.

She holds a Master of Health Administration through the University of Regina’s Johnson Shoyama School of Public Policy and an Undergraduate Degree in Psychology and Environmental Studies through the University of Victoria.   

Before entering politics, Lang had two decades of public service including senior roles at the Department of Health and Social Services and Yukon Housing Corporation.

Her work focused on the development of policy, programs, capital projects and legislation that comprehensively advanced the health, social services and housing systems.

Lang and her husband, Hector, have five children and reside in Whitehorse.

She is a committed volunteer, including advancing French Immersion, education and sports, including hockey and futsal.
