WHITEHORSE – Currie Dixon, Leader of the Yukon Party is pleased to announce Danny Macdonald as the new Caucus chief of staff.

Macdonald takes over from Ted Laking, who had served in the role since November 2016 and recently won election to Whitehorse City Council.

“Ted was an integral part of our Caucus transition to Official Opposition in 2016, and since then, has been steadfast behind the scenes in holding the government to account,” said Dixon. “I thank Ted for his service, and I am excited to welcome Danny to the role. He brings parliamentary, policy, and communications experience to the role, as well as an understanding of the issues facing Yukoners.”

Macdonald is a lifelong Yukoner and has previously served in the Cabinet offices of former Premiers Dennis Fentie, and Darrell Pasloski. He had been working as the Director of Research for the Caucus since April 2021.

“I would like to thank Currie for the opportunity, and Ted for bringing me on board in the Caucus office after the spring election,” said Macdonald. “I am looking forward to serving Yukoners in this new capacity and ensuring the Yukon Party is positioned to form government after the next election.”

The change is effective January 11, 2022.
