Yukon Liberals Cut Climate Change Youth Ambassador Program

WHITEHORSE - Last week, it was revealed that the Liberal government has cut the Climate Change Youth Ambassador Program for 2017.

The issue was raised by Official Opposition Environment Critic Wade Istchenko, and when he asked about the program, the Minister was unable to provide rationale for why her government chose to cut the program.

“This program has offered young Yukoners the opportunity to attend high-level discussions on global climate change and gain invaluable leadership experience,” said Istchenko. “It’s disappointing that not only did the government choose to cut this successful program, but that they were not able to provide a reason why.”
