WHITEHORSE – In recognition of World Autism Awareness Day, Opposition Critic for Health and Social Services Patti McLeod released the following statement:
“Today is World Autism Awareness Day, a day to recognize the many families in Yukon and Canada who live with or care for a child or family member on the Autism spectrum. It is a day for us to honour each individual that lives with autism and to show them kindness and respect. Each day, we must think about what our community can do to support those with autism and ensure they are afforded equal opportunities and a good quality of life.
“On behalf of the Yukon Party Official Opposition, I would like to commend the hard work of these families, as well as the incredible organizations who support them.”
