WHITEHORSE – The Official Opposition would like to commend Cystic Fibrosis Canada - Yukon Chapter for the work that they’ve done over the past five years to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis research and therapy for Yukoners.
According to Cystic Fibrosis Canada, CF is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting Canadians and there is currently no cure. At this point, 5 families in Yukon are impacted by this disease. However, CF Yukon chapter has done tremendous work to raise money and awareness for these families, as well as for others across Canada.
The fundraising efforts of CF Yukon are largely due to generous community support, particularly through their Annual Yukon Walk to Make CF History. The 6th Annual CF Walk will be hosted on May 26th at 10am at Wye Lake Park in Watson Lake. This event in Watson Lake is the only one taking place in Yukon.
We thank CF Yukon for their contributions to our community as well as to those seeking support, and hope to see many Yukoners attend the 6th Annual Walk to Make CF History.
