WHITEHORSE – According to a report from The Globe and Mail, Yukon’s Minister of Economic Development skipped the October 25th federal-provincial-territorial internal trade meetings hosted in Vancouver by federal Minister Dominic Leblanc.
“Unfortunately this latest snub by the Minister of Economic development is indicative of an ineffective approach towards trade by this Liberal government,” said Wade Istchenko Official Opposition Critic for Economic Development. “Earlier this sitting the Official Opposition was surprised to learn that after almost two years in government the Premier has still not met with the Governor of Alaska. Yukon’s trading relationships, both nationally and internationally, are important components of our economy and the Liberals need to pay more attention to them.”
