WHITEHORSE – In recognition of the 150th Anniversary of Canada’s confederation, Official Opposition Leader Stacey Hassard released the following statement:
“This weekend, Canada will celebrate its 150th Birthday.
“On July 1, 1867, the Dominion of Canada was established with only four provinces. Today, this beautiful country consists of 10 provinces and three territories, all vastly unique yet connected by our collective Canadian identity.
“On Canada Day each year, we take the time to celebrate our deep cultural history as well as our incredible diversity, and we remember those who built this vibrant country into what it is today.
“I wish all Yukoners a safe and happy Canada Day long weekend, and encourage each one of you to take part in the festivities happening in your communities.”
